When your pets are your family, cleaning up after them can make you feel almost parent-like. So as a parent your main concern is the safety of your four legged children. Did you know 23% of pet toys were found to harbor potentially dangerous staph bacteria – the highest staph percentage of any household item studied…Yikes! Yeasts and molds infest 55% of pet toys, and 14% also harbored coliform bacteria. So to keep everyone safe and healthy try scrubbing hard pet toys with soap, water and a mild bleach solution. Do you have soft toys? Chuck them in the washer. As your pet licks and loves on you, remember doing the little things will help keep mold and bacteria growth to a minimum and help keep everyone happy.
